Built on the successful use of the Imager 5010 laser scanner on the prestigious Stonehenge Laser Scan Project, the Greenhatch Group has now taken delivery of the first commercially available scanner of its kind for use in the UK heritage and archive sector.

The Zoller + Fröhlich Imager 5010 & M-Cam Solution utilises the very latest scanning technology available, recording point cloud data at speeds of up to 1 million points a second in full colour, whilst still maintaining an accuracy in excess of 1 mm and an extended range of over 180m. By utilising the high resolution graphics panel on the side of the scanner, it is now possible to multi select specific elements within a scene and acquires them at a very high resolution of point cloud density. The scanner also has increased selection of data capture quality rate and definition allowing unprecedented and efficient data collection in any environment.

With the handover of data for the Stonehenge Project now finalised and completed to an exceptional level of inherent accuracy, the Greenhatch Group is now concentrating on using the Z+F Imager 5010 and M-Cam solution on a series of new and challenging projects commissioned by Historic Scotland. The projects cover the length and breadth of the Scottish Isles from Iona Nunnery off the coat of the Isle of Mull in the West, to Earls Palace Birsey on the Isle of Orkney in the North.
